ABOG Board Member Jeanne Sheffield, MD, Elected to American Board of Family Medicine Board of Directors

The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) is proud to announce that Jeanne Sheffield, MD, a member of the ABOG Board of Directors, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Her term will run from 2025 through 2030. 

 

Dr. Sheffield was elected as the specialty board member representing Obstetrics and Gynecology. The ABFM Board is composed of sixteen physician members, including eleven family physicians and 5 representatives nominated by the American Boards of Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Neurology, and Surgery, along with two public members. Each Director serves a five-year term, contributing to the governance and strategic direction of the ABFM. 

 

In addition to her role on the ABOG Board, Dr. Sheffield also serves as a subspecialty examiner. Outside of ABOG, she is the director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins Medicine. 

 

Dr. Sheffield’s appointment reflects her outstanding leadership and dedication to advancing women’s health and medical education. Her expertise in OB-GYN and maternal-fetal medicine, along with her contributions to ABOG, will bring valuable perspective to the ABFM Board of Directors.
