Subspecialty Certification Bulletins (7)

Subspecialty Certification is a voluntary process that board-certified OB-GYNs who wish to demonstrate advanced expertise in a specialized area of practice. It signifies to patients, employers, and professional peers that the physician has successfully undergone rigorous evaluation and testing to acquire the requisite skills. As of 2025, ABOG has 6,932 diplomates who hold one or more subspecialty certifications.

 

Board-certified OB-GYNs may become further specialized in the areas of:

  • Complex Family Planning (CFP)
  • Gynecologic Oncology (GYN ONC)
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM)
  • Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI)
  • Urogynecology & Reproductive Pelvic Surgery (URPS)
