Article Assignments

Read 10 articles (and complete corresponding assessments) from any category including obstetrics, gynecology, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, the 5 subspecialties, or any other available article categories (e.g., emerging topics). For specialty diplomates with one or more focused practice designations, 4 of the 10 articles are required to be in the diplomates’ focused practice designation(s) – with 2 articles being in each FPD, if the diplomate has two FPDs.

Read 8 articles (and answer questions) in the diplomate’s specific subspecialty article category.

Read 2 articles (and answer questions) from any category including obstetrics, gynecology, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, other subspecialties, or any of the other available categories (e.g., emerging topics). For subspecialty diplomates with one or more focused practice designations, both of these articles are required to be in the diplomates’ focused practice designation(s) – with 1 article each being in each FPD, if the diplomate has two FPDs.

Read 4 articles (and answer questions) in diplomate’s first subspecialty article category.

Read 4 articles (and answer questions) in diplomate’s second subspecialty article category.

Read 2 articles (and answer questions) from any category including obstetrics, gynecology, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, the other four subspecialties, or any of the other available categories (e.g., emerging topics). For subspecialty diplomates with one or more focused practice designations, both of these articles are required to be in the diplomates’ focused practice designation(s) – with 1 article each being in each FPD, if the diplomate has two FPDs.

EXAMPLES

  1. Throughout the CC year, a specialist reads 10 articles (in obstetrics, gynecology, office practice, and pediatric and adolescent gynecology) and submits a total of 60 answers. For the 60 questions answered, the diplomate scores an 87%. Because the diplomate completed all the reading and questions and scored higher than an 80%, the CC Part II requirement is met.
  2. A subspecialist diplomate submits answers to 2 general articles and 8 of their subspecialty articles, but only 65% are correct. The CC requirement is not met because the 80% threshold performance on article questions was not achieved. The subspecialist will have to take and pass the CC Re-Entry Exam to regain certification.
