The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) is excited to host its first-ever Simulation Summit, a groundbreaking event taking place February 4–6, 2026 at the ABOG National Center for Certification and Continuing Education.
This summit will bring together educators, technologists, and health care professionals to explore the latest innovations in simulation-based learning, virtual and augmented reality, and technical skills assessment.
Call for Abstracts
We invite submissions from individuals and teams interested in presenting their work, research, or case studies. Selected participants will deliver a brief oral presentation followed by a hands-on demonstration lab featuring their models, technologies, or simulations during the summit. Submissions should align with one or more of the following themes:
   Simulation in education and training
   Virtual and augmented reality applications
   Technical skills assessment and evaluation
   Innovations in simulation technology
Timeline
   Applications Open: Monday, September 15, 2025
   Submission Deadline: Monday, November 3, 2025
   Notification of Acceptance: Friday, December 5, 2025
Travel and Accommodation Support
Eligibility
Applicants should meet one or more of the following criteria:
   Have developed models or technologies for summative assessment
   Are engaged in simulation-based research or applications at the residency level or beyond
   Are affiliated with academic institutions, simulation societies, or national programs focused on OB-GYN education
Application Requirements
   Presenter Information: Full name, title, organization, and contact details
   Simulation Model Details: Description, purpose, setup requirements, and compliance/disclosure information
   Media Consent & Speaker Disclosure
   Supplemental Materials: Photos and/or video demonstrating the simulation or technology
   Simulation Model Disclosure and Compliance
Selection Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
   Relevance to summit themes (e.g., summative assessments, simulation technology, CBME)
   Innovation and applicability of the model or tool
   Clarity and completeness of the abstract
   Potential for hands-on demonstration and participant engagement
   Preference will be given to validated summative assessments (i.e., for testing assessment rather than for formative or educational purposes) or those with potential for validation 
A review panel will select participants based on quality and alignment with summit goals. If your abstract is accepted, your participation may be listed on your CV as a professional presentation and demonstration at the ABOG Simulation Summit.

The application period closed on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CT. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by Friday, December 5, 2025.
