CC Application (1)

The Continuing Certification program is a continuous professional development process to ensure that ABOG-certified physicians maintain a high level of knowledge, judgment, and skills in their specialty and/or subspecialty throughout their careers. The goals of the CC program are to promote professional standards, advance scientific knowledge by supporting lifelong learning, and foster improvements in Health and Health Care.

The CC program is designed over a 6-year cycle. However, Diplomates must complete requirements annually. After completion of each 6-year cycle, a new cycle begins the following year.

To help diplomates navigate this process, the parts of Continuing Certification are outlined below.

To support you through each phase of the CC process, we’ve outlined key resources and requirements below. From requirements and deadlines to detailed guidance on each part of CC, these links provide everything you need to navigate Continuing Certification with confidence.

It is the diplomate's responsibility to remain informed of the current requirements for continuing certification. ABOG is under no obligation to notify a diplomate of impending loss of certification, deadlines, modifications to requirements, or admissibility to any of its examinations. Diplomates must meet the requirements published in the bulletins.
