Digital Badges for Diplomates

ABOG wants to help you promote your board certification to the general public, as well as to colleagues, institutions, and other organizations. That's why we've partnered with Credly to provide you with a digital version of your board certification. Digital badges can be embedded in websites, used in email signatures, and shared through social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

If you have already claimed your badge(s), you can log in to the Credly website to view and begin sharing your badge(s) here. It may be helpful to first review our Badge Guide about the program and how to share badges.

If you are eligible for a digital badge, you will receive an email from admin@credly.com where you can click "Accept your badge" to claim your badge and begin sharing your board certification virtually. Please email communications@abog.org with your name and ABOG ID if you would like the link to claim your badge(s) resent to your inbox.

Diplomates who participate in the full ABOG Maintenance of Certification program are eligible for a digital badge. Additionally, diplomates with specialty and subspecialty certifications who participate in ABOG's Maintenance of Certification program are eligible for digital badges representing each certification they maintain. Focused Practice Designations are not included in this program.

Participation in this program is optional. There are no fees or costs to claim and use your badge(s).

You worked hard to earn your board certification(s), and you work annually to maintain your board status. We want to offer you the opportunity to use your digital badge(s) to share your accomplishments.

Digital badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification, or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time online by clicking on the badge itself and reading the information made available about the credential.

We have partnered with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you've demonstrated into a badge, issued and managed through the company's platform. The technology Credly uses is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share, and verify your competencies digitally.

Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted, and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers, peers, and the general public concrete evidence of what you did to earn your credential and the skills you possess.

Credly is the end-to-end solution for issuing and managing digital credentials. Credly works with credible organizations to provide digital credentials to individuals worldwide.

You will receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Acclaim Platform. You're in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

No. This is a service ABOG provides for you at no cost to you.

While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly's platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

You can share your badge directly from the Credly platform to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; embed it in a website; or embed it in your email signature. Visit the Credly support site for detailed instructions on how to share your digital badge(s).
